The Kaimanawa Wild Horse Welfare Trust (KWHWT) is currently represented by a strong, diverse group of people who share a common goal of improving the welfare of Kaimanawa horses. Unlike some other groups who once supported Kaimanawa horses, we do NOT believe that ANY home is a good home. Kaimanawa horses require responsible, experienced handling and care and this is what we advocate.
Through the commitment of our members, we are able to continue our fight to protect and preserve Kaimanawa Wild Horses and to enhance the quality of life for those Kaimanawa horses that have survived the muster process and are now in domestic homes.
The membership year begins 1st of April, with a variety of membership options available. As a member of the KWHWT, you receive a newsletter every two months, which besides the usual classifieds, stories, snippets and photos, includes helpful facts and information for the responsible horse owner, as well as reports on current events involving Kaimanawas'. Also included in the newsletter is a report from our Chairman who, as a member of the Consortium, is able to provide a wealth of valuable information to our members.
